I'm a empty-nester mom of 3 and wife to an oil-company executive who is working on a project in Lagos, Nigeria. All many people hear about Lagos is bad stuff -- I'm here looking for the good in Lagos.

Do you like my blog's new look?
I woke up really early this morning and finally got up around 4:30 AM and decided that, since the internet moves faster at that unspeakable hour, I'd do something I've been meaning to do for a while: figure out how to change my blog's template and do something cuter with it. Is it readable with the dark background and light writing? I know some people have a hard time with that. When I open it, I see the basic blogger background before the special "cutestblog" background kicks in. But I don't know if that's just because our internet connection is so slow here, or because I installed the background as a widget and not another way. Anyone with expert advice about that, or do you not see two different backgrounds when you open it up? I haven't fiddled with the layout of my blog much before now, so I'm new to it. Any technical advice you can give me would be appreciated!

Naija girl at last, but aren't you a bit colorful? Gold on brown with the glare of the screen is a little bit bright for me. Your blog already makes a splash and can do without the glare. Photoshop tutorials by Jennifer Apple is a good resource.
I love it!
Not sure how to address you, so as to not cause offense.
As for the background, I like it, adds some African colour and vitality to the background.
I thought, it was the unspoken influence of the Fulani (Peul) people that had seeped into your pores. Through their effortlessly yet smart dress.
The print (background that is) is nice. Will you be changing it to feature more pints in future?
I enjoy your blog and am glad to have discovered it through Beauty. Thanks to both of you.
